In 2011 I started making my first app: The Job Interview app. An iphone app that lets job seekers practice answering job interview questions. Jeg made over 100 videos with questions, answers and advice. After watching the videos the user could record himself and see how he answered. The app was launched and totally bombed. I continued to work on it, made new graphics, sent press releases, contacted app review companies. I added check lists, quiz and flip cards to make the user get as much content as possible.
The app never made it far up the app store list, but after working and updating it many times, it is now chugging away with steady downloads every day. I have since made many apps, both for my own portfolio and for clients. My apps have broke into top ten in many countries, and even had some number 1 rankings in the paid categories. In this time I have learned what works and what does not work in app store, and I am still learning cause the app store changes every day.
I now have a team of 5-6 people that designs and develops apps with me. These people have worked with me for 3-4 years now. We now what works and what not.
